It was a
long draught between sectional titles at Edinburgh. The baseball team ended
that last spring and now the volleyball team has joined in the new found
success. The Lancers claimed the title at the tradition rich Morristown
Sectional Saturday evening.
Edinburgh
did it in convincing fashion, beating the host Yellow Jackets in three straight
sets, 25-21, 25-20, and 25-19. It was the usual strong play of the Lancer front
line that led the attack. Emilee Owens had 13 kills in the three games and
Courtney Dragoo was right behind with 12 kills.
Earlier in
the day, the Lancers defeated greenwood Christian in the semi-finals to advance
to the championship match. This match was also a straight set victory. The
scores were 25-7, 25-15, and 25-10.
The Lancers will now head to the South Decatur
Regional where they will meet Shakamak in the first round. Indianapolis
Lutheran and Rising Sun will meet in the other half of the bracket
